Create a trusted and connected charitable marketplace based on transparency, connecting donors with causes they care about.
At KindKart, we are revolutionizing charitable giving by prioritizing the much-needed transparency that donors desire while making generous contributions. We are a strong team of volunteers who strive to connect donors with the causes they care about and ensure they can witness the tangible impact their donations make in the lives of the beneficiaries. Through a meticulously crafted, personalized feedback loop, our supporters remain informed throughout the fulfillment process and receive visual updates of their positive impact directly from the charities they support. This approach creates a sustainable cycle of recurring donations and fosters a deep sense of satisfaction, assurance and commitment among our generous, compassionate donors.
The inspiration for KindKart came from my father, Mr. P. S. Gopalakrishnan. During the first wave of COVID-19 in April 2020, India went into lockdown, and my dad was deeply concerned about the daily wage laborers in our neighborhood who would suffer from a lack of food and money. Motivated by this, he and his neighbors started distributing grocery kits to 50 families. However, what began as a small effort soon grew into a significant project that brought relief to around 1200 families over two months.
From the US, I collaborated with him to raise funds, while my dad orchestrated the purchase and distribution of grocery kits, including rice, lentils, salt, sugar, cooking oil, and spices, with the help of his neighbors. During this time, he also discovered several orphanages and old age homes struggling to get help. Using the funds we raised, he began buying essential items for these charities.
This experience planted the seed of an idea in my mind: What if charities didn't ask for money but requested help in kind? What if donors could directly purchase and provide the needed items for the charities? And that’s how KindKart was born.
