Founded in June 2021 by Varalakshmi, Anubandha Charitable Trust addresses this grave issue by providing a safe haven for abandoned elderly individuals. Even before the formation of the trust, the charity began by distributing food to the homeless and needy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Varalakshmi, who had previously volunteered as a telecaller for another NGO, was driven by her passion for helping the underserved. Realizing the limited reach of existing efforts, she formed a team of seven volunteers, initially funding the initiative with her and her sister’s savings.
